Scottish pianist Geoffrey Duce has performed throughout Europe and the USA, in Japan, Hong Kong and in the Middle East. As a concerto soloist he has appeared with the Scottish Sinfonia, the Olympia Symphony Orchestra, the Edinburgh Philharmonic, the New York Sinfonietta and this year he performed two concerto works by Chopin in one evening with the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin in the Berlin Philharmonie. Also highly in demand as an accompanist and chamber musician, Mr. Duce has performed vocal recitals in London's Wigmore Hall, New York's Carnegie Hall, Manchester's Bridgewater Hall and in Edinburgh's Queen's Hall, and has recorded Lieder for BBC Radio. He won the Young Artists Award from Britain's National Federation of Music Societies, and was awarded the Prix de Piano at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau, France.
Geoffrey initially studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and Manchester University, before receiving a DAAD scholarship to the Universität der Künste, Berlin. He completed his doctorate at the Manhattan School of Music where he was also a faculty member. He currently teaches piano at SUNY (State University of New York). Upcoming engagements this season include Brahms' Concerto No.1 with the Olympia Symphony and Beethoven's Emperor Concerto with the Scottish Sinfonia.
